The road to recovery is an on going process. It is a journey not a destination. There are many paths and many opinions on how to be successful. I have been successful on my chosen path for 24 years. I believe in it because of its simplicity and the ability for me to handle life on life’s terms. My mission is to help people onto this path and give them the simple tools needed to continue on it.
The first step on this path is to get free from chemicals in the body, or detox. This is something people would need to do before coming into project one and is usually done in a medical facility.
The second step is making a commitment to recovery and usually takes 30 to 90 days of inpatient treatment. This is also something that would be required before someone would be eligible for project one
The third would be a commitment to project one. This would be a minimum of 6 months and requires a financial commitment of $750, a work commitment of 20 hrs a week on the house and most important a commitment to recovery and meetin
Every day people struggle with their addictions and a lot of treatments and programs focus on the problem. Here at project one we believe in focusing on the solution. By using the proven methods of 12 step programs and a safe environment we believe we have a path that will work for anyone willing to turn their will over to it.
I have made reference to “my path” here and just would like to make clear that my path is one that asks for help from everyone. It is not my way that works it is my turning my will over to God, whatever that means, and asking for help. We have many volunteers willing to help in project one and carry their message or experience strength and hope to the participants. This is extremely important to me as well as project one. The voice of recovery is many not one and we need not fear different views.
Again I try and keep this simple.
Project one is too rebuild a house for sober living at the same time we live in it and work on staying sober and helping each other.
